Why do we like this?
New AFI?! Having been listening to these guys since the 90s, I can assure you that I was excited when this came through the wire.
Over the past few months, we have been seeing teaser videos from the band hinting about a new album after a four year hiatus. Finally, we have the first track, "I Hope You Suffer," from the new album that has yet to be named.
"I Hope You Suffer" stays pretty true and consistent to where AFI left off back in 2009, and jumps right back into their old shoes of creating modern melodic hardcore rock. For those who have yet to see AFI live, it's probably worth noting that Davey Havok is a captivating beast, and delivers a performance you should add to your bucket list.
The band's ninth studio album, which was produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Patti Smith, Foo Fighters), is expected to be released sometime in September 2013.
