London based artist Aeris Roves proves that one can still be guerrilla style about music and be a success.
"Best Dressed Man" was published recently on Roves's Soundcloud, a song he recorded on his iPhone. With only 420 followers Roves has managed to make waves with this emotive, acoustic track. Reminds me of the days of yore when lo-fi acoustic recordings were not only the standard for up-and-coming musicians, but the kind of music everyone wanted to listen to. There's still something magical about hearing every breath, every knock on the the guitar, and creak of the strings.
"Best Dressed Man" may live on the interwebs in an unfinished form as far as industry is concerned, but it is a track that is complete to the listener- complete in its incompleteness.
Aeris Roves will be one to watch. He's proven that to be bold and fearless in this modern industry it's more about confidence in one's talents, not about overproduction and overthinking. People will appreciate and recognize good music in any form, and I hope you appreciate "Best Dressed Man" as I do.
