Why do we like this?
For any Drive fans out there (yes, I'm referring to that Ryan Gosling flick), you are more than likely also a fan of Kavinsky's "Nightcall," and therefore I will assume you that you will enjoy this track. Active Child (Pat Grossi), heavily relies on his spectacular vocal charm accented by the ever-so-present shimmering harp lines present within "Hanging On."
Off of his newest album titled You Are All I See, "Hanging On" has been reinvigorated by Brooklyn producers GRVRBBRS. The two aimlessly venture even further onto the dark side of electronic music territory, but still are able to stay true to Grossi's aesthetic. Also known as Graverobbers, the duo refresh and transport the piece to a destination of musical luminosity. The tempo is now dancier with an 80s, nu disco vibe, accompanied by the twang of Active Child's signature synth.
Blurring the lines between disco, tech, electronic and folk-infused indie-pop, the marriage of Active Child and GRVRBBRS has produced quite the lovechild.
