Why do we like this?
Abbie Ozard impressed with her previous single, "Growing Pains", and has gone two for two with followup "Heartbreak Radio." This raucous '80s guitar pop gem finds the Manchester-based youngster merging the lo-fi spectacle of peers Snail Mail and Fenne Lily with the shoegaze romance of Slowdive. In short, it's a fucking fantastic song. Discussing the track Ozard explained:
I think every single person who has been through a relationship will have a song that comes on and it instantly reminds you of a previous relationship. The brain is a mad thing and the fact that a melody can you remind you of a certain chapter in your life shows how powerful music really is without you even realising. ‘Heartbreak Radio’ reiterates the fact moments in your life will never be forgotten when they are put together with music. With some reminding, memories never leave your head and will stay with us forever.
This is another really amazing tune from Ozard, who is slowly carving out a name for herself in the UK music scene. One to watch.
