A Tribe Called Quest has just dropped the video for "Dis Generation," taken from their spectacular 2016 comeback We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service.
The black and white clip was directed by Hiro Murai, who also directed Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino)'s TV series Atlanta.
The clip sees Q-Tip, Jarobi and Ali Shaheed Muhammed, along with longtime collaborator Busta Rhymes, in constantly panning scenery through a subway platform, a packed mosh pit and a city block. While the other people in each scene are frozen in a moment, the group move freely throughout.
The song itself was one of, if not the best track on the album, which was not only an incredible return for ATCQ, but one of the greatest hip-hop albums in recent memory. Equal parts dazzling social commentary, brilliant production, and stunning tribute to the late Phife Dawg, I can't think of another comeback album to rival it.
