It's always sunny in Philadelphia for A Sunny Day in Glasgow, the band fronted by Ben Daniels from the City of Brotherly Love. On their dreamy new EP,
Autumn, Again, Daniels orchestrates bandmates Jen Goma and Annie Frederickson's airy vocals as they disperse through a static haze.
The result is an album of uniquely entrancing lo-fi psychedelia packed full of rewarding moments and buzzing dance beats. With a running time under 30 minutes and a price tag of free,
Autumn, Again is an album begging to be listened to. You can get it at no cost from the band's
website, but it will also be available on limited release maroon vinyl.
While listening to
Autumn, Again, I pictured a hipster version of the Peanuts dancing along. It actually works, see for yourself: play any part of the album over this

After original bassist Brice Hickey fell loading equipment into a car and broke several legs, leaving his girlfriend vocalist Robin Daniels to care for him, Hickey was replaced by current bassist Josh Meakim who also assists on vocals, and Goma was picked up via an advertisement on the band's MySpace page.
Following the lineup shuffle, the band toured extensively, and while
Autumn, Again may not be as fully conceptualized as their first two releases,
Scribble Mural Comic Journal or
Ashes Grammar, it's still full of quality tracks. Listening to these talented young artists stop to collect themselves and discover their sound is vastly more intriguing than a simple buzz band.
