In the time since we first wrote about PC Music, the label has been the subject of features on The Guardian, Pitchfork, and Vice. It's fair to say they're blowing up a little.
It's almost impossible to talk about the label without using the word 'divisive'. The ultimate question you have to ask is whether PC Music is great despite their frills, or because of them.
Those frills are things which regular listeners will be familiar with by now: hyper-pitched voices, trance-style chords, and so on. On paper it doesn't sound particularly appealing, but that's the magic of PC Music -- it somehow still is.
Label boss A.G. Cook's track "Beautiful" is case in point. After multiple plays, it's still hard to decide whether it's love or loathing that's causing you to repeatedly click play. As with the rest of the PC Music catalogue, it's available for free download right here. And one thing's for sure, they aren't going away.
