Why do we like this?
Just so there's no confusion, I will begin by saying that this remix is phenomenal. I've been sitting on it for a while, and finally got around to writing it up here.
Autograf is an up-and-coming trio out of Chicago with some real talent. Releasing three remixes thus far, these musicians are certainly setting a high bar for future releases. This remix is hardly recognizable from the original at some points, taking a page from the Nicolas Jaars and Four Tets of the world.
Mystic piano floats over a deep well of complex beats and extremely well placed samples from 50 Cent's original. The harsh and overtly sexual nature of the original is muted with graceful bass notes and intelligent design across the board. Hat tip once again, Autograf. LP soon? Thanks.
