Why do we like this?

Who would have thought that one of hip-hop's legends would blend well with one of today's hottest up-and-coming pop artists? But San Diego producer Carlos Serrano must've heard it in his head when he decided to mash Tupac Shakur and Banks together.

Taking the dark and brooding production from Banks' "Drowning" and 2Pac's "Thugz Mansion" verses, this track collides together for an emotional experience. And when Banks' verses come in during the chorus, the song becomes quite haunting.

2Pac may have passed, but Serrano's mix brings back its aura. Who knows, maybe this experimental mashup could have been what we would have been hearing from the legendary rapper today?
