Why do we like this?

Yeah, you read right: this is a cover of 2Pac's "California Love," and boy does it work well.

The cover comes courtesy of SomeKindaWonderful, a quintet out of Cleveland looking to break through this year with their debut album due for release in June. 

I expected this to be a write-off before even hitting play, because who honestly has the tenacity to cover one of the most recognizable rap songs in history? As I hit play, though, I knew was about to hear something special. I was immediately gripped by the dark brooding atmosphere, which reminded me a little of The Neighbourhood, and from then on the song grew into a lyrical masterpiece.
