If you aren't aware of 2:54, don't feel too bad. New to the scene, they are likely to make a splash as they support the UK's fanatically worshiped band, The xx, on their comeback tour in London on May 15. Sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow - aka 2:54 - debuted on Radio 1 at the beginning of this month.
A little rougher and dirtier than their English front band, "Creeping" is a lusty, spooky track muddled with a wall of sound vibe. Rebellious female attitude is spattered all about the track with shoegaze vocals and layered melodies which seem to gently say "hey, fuck you." The vocals meander through a nonchalant forest of escalating instrumentals, leaving listeners existentially questioning their purpose.
