Sounds like:
Hoodie Allen,
G-Eazy,
Sammy Adams,
Flume
Why do we like this?
Zak Downtown is an up-and-coming hip-hop artist from glorious New York City. The dude recently dropped a track titled "City's Ours," and it's a banger. The Gotham City influence flows through the sound, and being from the Big Apple myself, I'm really digging it.
The MC has kept a bit of a low profile so far, but if he continues the trend of dropping songs on this level (along with the dope visuals to boot), he'll be poised to gain new fans all over the globe.
He's previously opened for acts like G-Eazy and Sammy Adams, and keeps most live performances on his home court at venues like Webster Hall, High Line Ballroom, and Gramercy Theatre. No upcoming shows at the moment, but if you're from New York City and/or dabble in contemporary hip-hop and trap music, I recommend checking him out.
