A couple months ago I wrote about the single "1988" from Youandewan. This track is on top of my list of favorites right now and has been for quite some time. Youandme is Ewan's newest EP, and although it's different from "1988" both in style and sound, it's a great release that showcases Ewan's versatility in song writing.
"Zeal" is the stand-out track for me on this rather short EP. It's a classy joint, filled with pulsing beats, dreamy melodies, and one hell of a catchy hook. Ewan is still a relatively untapped resource in the electronic scene, especially here in the US, but the consistent dose of exquisite production he keeps giving is starting to take hold. "Zeal" has seen recent support from Skream on the UK's Rinse FM, hailing Ewan as "a big artist to watch out for." Expect the vinyl release on April 5th on Skream's own label, Disfigured Dubz.
It's only a matter of time before Youandewan becomes a household name on this blog, so I'm excited to hear how he takes hold of his style and really progresses to the next level.
