Why do we like this?
Back before music blogs were big, Yeah Yeah Yeahs released an album titled Fever To Tell. The lead song Maps, which is actually about the relationship between Liars frontman Angus Andrew and Yeah Yeah Yeahs lead singer Karen O (it stands for My Angus Please Stay), reached #9 on Billboard's modern rock chart. It even made it into Rock Band. Basically they had a ton of success, including covers by White Stripes and Arcade Fire. And, of course, remixes.
What I like about this Elite Force Re-Fix is that after a somewhat typical electro-buildup, the song breaks way to feature Karen O's stand-out vocals loud and clear. From there, it devolves into a bit of a house banger, a style I've been particularly fond of lately. Hopefully it jives with you, as well!
