Maine producer Phoniks did it again! I'm a little bit confused by how quick this guy works, every month or so I'm seeing new stuff being released by the prolific producer. It's not a surprise, then, that the label he created with fellow Awon is named Don't Sleep Records...
With Shaolin Summer: The Remixes released on Monday, Phoniks revisits 12 Wu-Tang classic tracks, giving them a funky kung-fu-esque treatment. The project includes some older work (such as the excellent "C.R.E.A.M." remix), but most of it is brand new. You can download the whole lot right here for free.
The remix of "3 Bricks" is probably colder than the rest, but it's my favorite track of this project. I'm curious about which samples Phoniks used for the instrumental, it reminds me some Ennio Morricone!
