I’m really liking the new Woods album, With Light and With Love. The Brooklyn band has really established more of a pop sound on this record; the melodies are all way more accessible than their previous efforts, but not in a dumbed-down kind of way.
These songs burst with life and the band seems like they have more confidence with their songwriting. “Moving to the Left" has a nice 60s psychedelia sound to it, with vocalist Jeremy Earls' falsetto vocals really adding a lot of character to the track.
If you’re a fan of the freak-folk style then you’ll really need to check out this album when it's released on April 15, via their own label Woodist.
