I have one word for this song and video: epic. I can't believe I hadn't heard of Woodkid earlier. He is immensely talented and has been a pro in the music scene for a while, working with Yelle, Moby, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Lana Del Ray as a music video director.
The video is intense and suspenseful. You feel like something huge is about to happen... and then Woodkid beings serenading with his oh-so-sultry voice, and everything is okay. This video and the music is eleven minutes of pure beauty. There is a sizable orchestra lending softness and hardness from every angle, and then there's Woodkid with his angelic tone. It almost makes you want to weep.
It turns out that Woodkid will be performing in the states for three dates only. If you can go, then GO. I urge you. If not, you can purchase his newest album here. Who knew that Woodkid could do it all.
