Why do we like this?
Montreal's newest talent Wake Island is a foursome consisting of Philippe M, Nadim M, Derek Koziol, and Evan Tighe. They have collaboratively connected, despite their geographical roots in Lebanon, the USA, and Canada, coming together to form an excellent modern rock entity.
"Your Doctrine" is the featured track off of Use It As A Weapon // Uncomfortable B-Sides, a follow-up EP to their explosive sophomore album titled It Takes Time To Be Uncomfortable. The entire EP is set to be released on August 6, 2013, but in the mean time, we were able to premiere this groovy yet Caribbean-infused rock track.
Having shared the stage with The Besnard Lakes, Suuns, and Beach Fossils in the past, Wake Island's "Your Doctrine" reinforces their well-earned spot beside such large names. If you've already fallen in love and happen to live in Montreal, you can catch Wake Island in the flesh at Passovah Summer Music Festival on August 10.
