To commemorate the tenth year of J Dilla's passing, Toronto's Ursa Major felt the best way to pay homage was via song.
In this beautifully produced track, the traditional elements of a classic 90's hip-hop production shine through with old school sweeps and samples to add those finishing touches that turn a good track into a great one.
For someone whose artistic persona hasn't yet shown us what he can do outside of the electronica world, this is an impressive piece and one that only a true fan could concoct. Of course it's not a mirror of J Dilla's work, nor is it trying to be, but aural hats off to one of the best hip-hop artists of a generation.
