Why do we like this?

I mean, dang. Turtle, aka Jon Cooper, has a talent for some seriously heady music. "Colours" off his second EP, is a prime example of that style.

This is an almost spiritual experience, and listening to each element individually does not dilute that sentiment.  The ethereal vocals, guitar riffs, and ever-pulsing synths are beautiful together and separate.

This style is reminiscent of The Field or Tycho, wherein the artists layer element over element for a progressive expansion of sound which creates an immersive and visceral track. The artistry is truly admirable here, as Cooper is able to make this hodgepodge of noise into a gorgeous track.
