Rarely do I stumble so randomly across new music that I like as I did with this track by Tom Aspaul.
Upon playing "New Moon" for the first time, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the sound. It is something I feel is perfect for a summer's day.
The way he borrowed from other songs to create this track is pretty fun. People with a sharp ear might notice something about the lyrics used in the first part of the song, as they are from Brandy's 2002 song "Full Moon." Also, the connection with Carly Simon's "Why" is easily made.
"New Moon" is featured on Revelation, a mixtape Tom released not too long ago. Besides this track, "Good Together" is an other personal favorite. You can listen to it on YouTube.
