Why do we like this?

It's no wonder that this track from THØSS has caused such a stir on the Spotify Viral Charts, Apple Music playlists, and Hype Machine within a couple of weeks from its official release.

THØSS describes the EP’s first track “IWITW” as something “intensely personal" and he explores a theme that a lot of people will relate to -- "the feeling of being submerged by one’s own mind, and the toll it can take on those closest to you." Furthermore, and something to encourage any songwriter, the 26-year old admits that "whilst not being completely straight down the line lyrically, it is an attempt at relaying an overwhelming difficult part of my life in a poetic way.”

The track has such an immediate impact, and I like the prominency of the instruments and how each play a particular part at unraveling the song to become more vulnerable, passionate and full of angst, as he repeats the line “I was in the water were you calling my name?”

Soon to release his debut EP Benchwarmer, THØSS is an artist I’ll be keeping an eye on in 2016.
