These intriguing Brits dazzled us back in 2009 with their debut self-titled album, giving us mesmerizing songs that became mainstays on many iPods across the world. In anticipation for what they currently have in the works, I began searching through my archives of remixes and came across one that I thought was well worth mentioning.
Mixed by DJ Francophilippe back in 2010, this version of "Heart Skipped a Beat" carries bits and pieces of French house influence along with dripping wet slap-bass and energetic glitch microcuts. The essential elements of the song are still present but are given to us in fragments with danceable loops intertwined.
Though the original cannot be superseded, this rework is one of those tracks that surely won't disappoint when you're in a feisty get-down mood.
