When someone rises in the rap game with the finesse and craftmanship of Roc Marciano, it begs the question of where and when their sword was sharpened.
Ten years ago, Roc was a young Long Islan upstart who joined Mike Raw, Laku, and Dino Brave to form the group The UN. Though short lived, the crew impressed Pete Rock enough to be the only outside vocals on his 2001 Petestrumentals release.
A few years later, the crew crafted their debut, UN Or U Out. Sounding like 1995 never saw December 31, the LP is full of crunchy drums that chin-check you and rigid flows that can almost make you smell the piss in the project elevator.
While you enjoy a sample of UN Or U Out, ponder this fun fact: Carson Daly was one of the first people to put out a record featuring Roc Marciano.
