Now on Saddle Creek records, The Thermals (a Portland trio) have been churning out guitar crunchy tracks for over a decade and they see no end to their music. On their single, "The Sunset," they don't turn back; they get those guitars crunching away right from the start.
Off their Saddle Creek debut Desperate Ground, the song is about, "Someone learning to deal with the harsh reality around them," according to frontman Hutch Harris. And the truth is all well-documented in the track, as the singer belts out:
