Why do we like this?

I've heard a few takes on what is ultimately a timeless single of "1979" by The Smashing Pumpkins, but none of them quite hit the spot like Freedom Fry's folk cover. 

Prepare yourself for five minutes of minimalistic and completely organic music making that will leave you feeling quite raw in the middle. This is a touching, striped down rendition that completely embodies that feeling of uncertainty as we grow old.

A cover to remember and certainly one that I will hold dear this year.
