Why do we like this?
One of the bands I'm most stoked to see at San Francisco's upcoming Outside Lands Music Festival is The Shins. I have a feeling that their music is going to be wholly appropriate for the setting, and will likely be the highlight of Friday night (that's right folks, I'll be skipping Phish to see The Shins). Also interesting to note that famous indie rockers recently announced that they'll be releasing an album in 2012 on James Mercer's Aural Apothecary Label.
Meanwhile, Peter, Bjorn & John have been all over these days. Primarily for original content, that is. So I decided to dust off this old remix of The Shins' "Australia." The song itself keeps very familiar with the original until somewhere around the 2:30 mark, where a markedly different guitar lick steals the show.
