Cape Town-based band The Plastics have been on my radar for years now, so it's always nice when one of their songs manages to strike a chord with me.
"Alona" comes as the opening track of their recently-released album In Threes, which saw the band transition their sound from an Arctic Monkeys-influence to a heavy psych-pop vibe.
The change was a welcome one (no one likes a stagnant artist), and demonstrates that the group are keen to keep pushing boundaries.
