It's only fitting that the first warm night of 2015 in New York City welcomed the likes of Nancy Whang and John Maclean to Cameo Gallery, accompanied by their multitalented band known as The Juan Maclean.
A modest and simultaneously stunning Nancy Wang appeared shortly after the band started playing the first song. James Murphy was spotted in the relatively mellow audience, particularly for a Friday night. That isn't to say that there was no dancing -- waves of energy rippled throughout the course of the show as the band wavered in and out of high and low tempo songs.
The performance lasted for about an hour, playing many fan favorites including, "A Simple Design" and a variety others from their 2014 record, including some oldies. Perhaps the happiest moment of the performance came at the final song -- "Happy House", a blissfully drawn out climb of euphoric sounds and space aged vocals.
The band will be on tour for the next couple of months, so be sure to catch them in a city near you for a truly unforgettable musical experience.
