Thandi Phoenix

Take note of the name Thandi Phoenix. This upcoming Sydney singer/producer has a big future ahead. Her new single "Judgement" is perky, catchy, and lightweight. I love the classic R&B vibe -- passionate yet untouchable -- blended so fluidly with percussive flutters and snappy synths. The kind of track that'd fit any dance-floor as well as it would the radio.  Having already collaborated with Ta-ku, Coin Banks, and more, it only takes a minute listening to her original work to understand why there's so much hype around her.  B Wise's guest verse is really impressive, too -- there's a new school of Australian rappers emerging, and they're seriously changing our often-dismissive feelings about local hip hop.  Keep an eye out for more collaborations, and a debut EP set to drop later in 2015.
