A few weeks ago, my hometown hosted its annual International Balloon Fiesta. It's a gathering of balloonists from all over the world who bring their hot air balloons to take part in one of the most extraordinary events I've ever seen. Nine straight days of clear, crisp New Mexico skies filled with hundreds of hot air balloons. What's really cool about Balloon Fiesta is the opportunity for spectators to walk around the field and watch all the balloons take off.
There's something really peaceful in watching these gigantic tear-shaped (and sometimes special-shaped) balloons slowly take off and fill the sky, as they float off to wherever the breeze takes them. Suspended in the air thousands of feet above the ground, without a care in the world.
For tonight's Sunday Night Chill I've tried to capture the beauty of sleeping floating above the world. So tonight, close your eyes and let the music take your brain to wherever it is that helps you chill. High above all the worries and stresses that are just trying to keep us down.
