Why do we like this?

Sir Sly is a three-piece band from L.A., comprised of Landon Jacobs (lead vocals/guitar), Hayden Coplen (drums), and Jason Suwito (keyboard). A favorite of Indie Shuffle, they recently completed a national tour with The 1975 and Bad Suns, and we were able to catch up with Landon about the tour and new material coming soon.

How was your recent tour with The 1975 and Bad Suns?
We had opened for St. Lucia before, but it was only a 3 week tour. This tour was about 6 weeks, and we hit at least ten cities. It felt great playing in front of sold-out crowds every night -- there were a lot young fans, and the shows were fun.

What's your favorite song to play on tour?
The easiest song to play is "Gold," because even the casual Sir Sly fan has heard it. My personal favorite is "Nowhere," though, because there is a long instrumental break that I love playing.

Are you guys working on any new music?
We are planning to release a new single sometime in July. In terms of our full-length, we are aiming for Fall 2014 -- at the moment we have 11 songs, plus bonus material. We write, record, mix and master all of our own songs -- over 36 songs so far, but not all are good enough to make the cut.

How do you feel about your growing fan base?
When we released our first two songs, we wanted to be a mystery so we would know that people liked our music for what it was. We blame Indie Shuffle for spreading the rumor that we were connected with Foster The People somehow... yet we thank Indie Shuffle for posting all our songs! The blog culture has definitely helped grow our fan base a lot. Also, the tour helped in getting us more new fans as we performed each time.
