Why do we like this?
San Francisco's Silver Swans recently produced a sexy and futuristic new single called "Sea of Love." Moving away from their dreamy/hazy sound, the new track sounds like it belongs to the soundtrack of the classic sci-film Blade Runner or maybe even in the dark and stoic Ryan Gosling film Drive. It harnesses a lot of analog synths and heart-pounding beats produced by Jon Waters, with airy alluring vocals by Ann Yu.
On this remix o the track, Polish producer Tomasz Jamroz, aka Gazella, wanted to showcase the song's electronic sounds but take it into another realm. Capturing the original's vibe, he adds his own flavor of poppy New Order-esque synths while using Ann Yu's vocals as the lead, making the track just as catchy as the original. It's more dance-centric, but doesn't lose its sexy vibe.
The original version of the song will be appearing on the band's upcoming sophomore album. Listen to it here.
