Sounds like:
Dark Sky,
Anthony Naples,
Huerco-S
Why do we like this?
A new generation of artists willing to take house from dance music to home-listening has emerged, with the likes of Anthony Naples and Huerco-S at the forefront.
Dubbed "outsider house," this is house music in structure only, taking on a variety of influences that give it a warm, textured sound. While a lot of these records are not primarily aimed at the dance floor, their house structure and instrumentation means that they sit there comfortably anyway.
One artist who we've recently come across operating in this sound is Swedish duo Shakarchi & Stranéus. Their track "Emigrant Visa," has already received support from Dark Sky, and it's their jazz-tinged In Brackets EP that this most recalls.
You can get a copy of "Emigrant Visa" on the vinyl-only Fenman EP.
