When I hear "San Holo" and "Remix" together, I imagine stereotypical vocal chops, swelling beat drops, and future-whatever-you-call-it influences. Analogue Dear's rework of "Still Looking" is the antithesis of that, which is probably why I enjoy it so much.
It was released through bitbird as part of a three-track remix package, and it really caught my attention due to it's authenticity. It doesn't attempt to be something it's not, and the producer truly paints the original to suit his vision.
He cuts the vocal track completely, centering his remix around trickling pianos. It evokes the tranquil simplicity of walking by the shore or stargazing at night, Romantic and dripping with tranquility.
You can hear the original here and check out the other remixes by DROELOE and Cesqeaux.
