Electro pop and hip-hop? I think it's fair to say that this relationship is somewhat unexplored, so it excites me to provide this track to our curated digital library.
Rockie Fresh is a name we've seen just a couple times in this community of tunes. The Maybach Music Group rapper just dropped his first project after the extremely stellar Electric Highway, titled The Birthday Tape. Only six songs in its entirety, it's a short ride, but "Nothin Wrong With That" is heavy in the rotation right now, so I wanted to share it with you.
Like many past Rockie joints, the beat is on point. Those familiar with the band Carousel will pick up the sample immediately (psst, it's their song "Games"). I haven't found out who is behind the production yet, but seriously, kudos bro.
The lazy, auto-tune vocals don't always work, but I'm feeling them on this one. Lyrics are something along the lines of smoking herb, drinking booze, partying, getting it in, and relationship problems that can stem from all of that. It's nothing we haven't heard before, but it's fitting for the sound of the song. I'm diggin' it and hope those of you making the discovery are bumping your head in electro-hop enjoyment.
