Why do we like this?

I literally stopped what I was doing when I first heard this song. Perhaps it was Rationale's quavering yet powerful vocal coupled with the vulnerability of the lyrics and the bobbing bassline. Whatever caught my attention, I'm glad it did.

After scouring his SoundCloud, I've found each track is as strong and emotive as the last. He released his debut Fuel To The Fire EP less than a year ago; an impressive collection of soulful pop creations. "Fast Lane" is a glossy, disco infused piece, perfect for a night drive just as the name suggests. The title track, on the other hand, is an assertive and staccato production centered around the gravity of Rationale's voice.

"Palms" is powerful but inviting- warm in it's familiarity. He describes this track as "music to open up to," a feeling reflected in his words. He uses the image of upturned palms to communicate a surrender and acceptance; a gesture of openness engendering connection with his audience.

Ready to let him in? You can find more music here.
