Why do we like this?
Rolling Stone just released this special Radiohead cover of "Talk Show Host" performed by Blonds. While I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to Radiohead covers, this version is confidently reworked in all the right ways and is definitely something worth mentioning.
Featured on Radiohead's 1995 B-side from The Bends and 1996's Romeo + Juliet Soundtrack, Blonds reinstates the relevancy in this track with revamped electronics and sumptuous sexiness. The beginning is brooding, dark and even more intense with Cari Rae's vocals.
On their apprehensiveness to cover the track, Rae said "it was like attempting to play with perfection," but what we ultimately have here is a track that stays faithful to the original while welcoming a fresh and interesting take on something dark and beautiful. Enjoy!
