Why do we like this?
Hailing from L.A., PYYRAMIDS duo Drea Smith (from the electro-pop outfit He Say/She Say) and Tim Nordwind (of famed indie rock band OK Go) apparently first bonded over their love of British post-punk and the Madchester scene.
With debut EP Human Beings released back in 2011, the unlikely twosome dropped their first full-length record of darkly soulful rock back in April 2013, entitled Brightest Darkest Day, and now they've brought out their latest EP Invisible Scream.
Brimful of scuzzy guitars and lo-fi textures, all overseen by Smith's woozy "Billie Holliday meets The Smiths" vocals, "Invisible Scream" is an absolute killer of a track. If, like me, you can't get enough of it, check out the monochromatic, recently released accompanying video here.
