Pushing Hands are a London four piece, cut from the same indie cloth as the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club and The Maccabees. They also sway off into the same pop-folk territory, just like the aforementioned bands. However, the influences of London's other indie elite is here -- shades of The xx can definitely be heard in Pushing Hands' minimalist style. I kid you not, when I first heard this, I thought Pushing Hands was a one-man band!
Where these guys differ from everyone else is their popularity. While Bombay Bicycle Club and The xx regularly play sold-out venues, Pushing Hands are still on the pub scene, albeit in North London's trendiest watering holes. Indeed, they have just 38 followers on
their Soundcloud. So why not give them some love?
