Perks of running a music blog full-time? Following the music, of course! And in this case, I'm fortunate enough to be able to make my way over to Barcelona for the Primavera Sound music festival, which takes place later this week (tickets still available here). Things officially kick off today, but given there are only ~15 bands playing, I figured I'd skip to Thursday. It seems to have a mostly indie-rock slant, and I can't even count how many bands are playing. Here are the acts I'll be making sure not to miss: Poolside: 6.30pm on the Ray-Ban stage. Daytime disco dance party anyone? Please! Tame Impala: 8.30pm on the Heineken stage. Ready to drift away in a psych-rock haze, and then probably get dinner. Jessie Ware: 9.55pm on the Pitchfork stage. But there's some competition -- Dinosaur Jr. and Do Make Say Think. Will probably catch some of the latter, who start 20 minutes before Jessie on the ATP stage. The Postal Service: 10.55pm on the Heineken stage. Absolutely can't miss this High School flashback. Grizzly Bear: 12:15am on the Primavera stage. Phoenix: 1.40am on the Heineken stage. Alright, this is starting to get late. 7 hours in now? Must. Keep. Going. Four Tet: 2.25am on the Pitchfork stage. Am I getting too old for this? Animal Collective: 3.10am on the Heineken stage. The last time I saw them it was amazing. Might have to try again. John Talabot: Okay, this is pushing it. 4.15am? I might have to call it a night...
