Pompeya comes to us from Moscow with a sound that doesn't hold back. They go for a unique breed of pop music, with a collective tone that is firmly rooted in the sounds of 70s disco, 80s new wave, and 90s indie rock.
Their EP comes out on June 17 (which you can pre-order here) and Indie Shuffle's got an exclusive premiere of one of the tracks off the album.
"Does" puts you in the perfect headspace for dancing, working, and having a generally good time. I’d describe the sound of this song as Incan beach volleyball music. Seriously, if you’ve ever listened to an Incan flute, you’ll recognize the sound in the backdrop of this track. The separation of each beat, like a consistent, marching bounce, divide this song into sections. It’s almost like recounting a childhood spent moving around from place to place, rather than growing up in one place. Newness and excitement, yet simultaneously familiar.
Let this be a sample of what's to come on their EP for it will surely be fantastic.
