Brisbane five-piece
Pigeon has been on the brink of something special for a while now, and look to continue their impressive trajectory with the release of some special new material. Having paved the way for a number of impressive support and festival slots on the back of their 2012 debut (EP)
Encounters, they have now begun to prepare for the follow-up. Due out early next year,
Settle In will include the already released "
Curtain Call" and the a second single, which came out late last week.
On "Curtain Call," Pigeon surprised a few of us with a raw, frantic undertone, but on "Two Moon Love" the guys return to their catchy, electro pop roots. Pigeon's sound is a terrific meshing of styles, with the band's self-proclaimed "European dance floor sensibility" pretty close to the mark. Add to the mix the buttery vocals of band member Danny Harley (The Kite String Tangle) and you have a recipe for success.
Make sure to give their back catalogue a serious listen
here (including a number of terrific remixes for the likes of Sun City, Gold Fields, and Safia) and get ready for plenty more from this talented outfit in the near future.
