I'll admit I hadn't heard the original of this track until hearing this remix, but it has quickly made it's way into my top electronic tracks right now. In fact, both the original and this remix - AND Anatole's remix of the track, have all entered my heavy rotation. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and say GXNXVS version is my favorite.
Slinky and soulful, the rhythm itself isn't hugely different, but it's the subtleties where the changes kick in; the percussive flickers, the lightly distorted vocals.
The syncopated rhythm is smooth and sexy, complemented by the melody, not to mention the emotive lyrics. I can't fault this remix.
I highly recommend checking out the rest of what the young Australian producer has to offer - head to GXNXVS' SoundCloud for more, including remixes of Panama and Theophilus London.
