A warning to all you producers out there: if you're going to remix a track I love, make sure you do a good job! I find it hard enough to keep up with all the incredible original music being created, let alone all the remixes that follow. Because of this, I don't often post reworks unless they absolutely hit the mark.
Sydney producer/vocalist Zuri Akoko has done just that with her recent remix of Oscar Key Sung's "Holograms," which just happens to be one of my favorite songs of the year.
She's given the track a slightly sharper edge, but has kept within the original essence -- a difficult task for most remixers. This rework is very clever, with Akoko adding her own vocals to give the track a fresh new feel.
