Why do we like this?
Todays Old School Wednesday is one of the newer songs we've featured in the series. Released in 1997, "On & On" topped the Billboard R&B charts and won Badu a Grammy for best R&B performance.
As this song garnered its accolades, it seemed that neo-soul would soon be taking over the world, with Badu's sultry style a complete opposite to the ballad oriented rnb of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.
Although neo-soul never quite scaled those heights, this undeniably smooth track is a classic regardless.
