Why do we like this?
Adelaide isn't really a noted stop on the Australian musical landscape, and the majority of acts I review hail from the other major cities around the country. Bucking that trend is always fun though, and this particular track is twice as enjoyable.
Both calling the South Australian capital home, Oisima and Slamagotchi have collaborated in the past, with the former acting as a mentor of sorts (check out "In The Mood" from Oisima's Goddess EP). Slamagotchi has just released a remix of another track from that same EP, trying his hand at re-working "Hardtime Delight" -- originally a breezy, beat-driven song. Slamagotchi's version is quite different: complex layering and tempos combined with textured beats create an interesting musical landscape with an almost extraterrestrial feel to it.
With Slamagotchi currently working on his first full album release, and Oisima going from strength to strength, Adelaide might be a place you'll be hearing about a lot more moving forward!
