Mike Dignam Hurt

I came across this track by Mike Dignam by chance on SoundCloud, and was immediately drawn in the sheer loveliness of it.

Mike Dignam is an English singer/songwriter who has been writing, recording, and touring his own music for the past five years, and sports a hefty list of touring supports.

Dignam marries a pop and blues sensibility with his gorgeous soulful vocal, very much remiscent of the sound which Allen Stone fosters. The straightforward, simple delivery of "Hurt," in both the instrumentation and sweet nature of the lyrics, is quite wonderful to listen to.

I am definitely hooked -- in the SoundCloud world of kid-producers and electronic geniuses, a well written song without too many frills is sometimes the break you (or at least, I) need.
