German producer Mazde returns with "Pitch Black," an understated new single with a jazzy, electro-pop feel, courtesy of vocalist LissA. Written together over the course of one late night, it's smooth, almost romantic, and remarkably different to his most recent work.
The 21-year-old, born Matthias Dierkes, developed a hefty online reputation that was built on his unique remixes for artists like Disclosure and GRMM.
The chemistry between the pair is clear; Mazde's swift beats and tight production are the perfect complement to LissA's delicate vocals and light, feathery melody. From piano trickles to plucky strings, those organic layers are what makes this a really special track.
The pair are set to collaborate for a full EP, simply titled Mazde x LissA, set for release on August 28.
