Why do we like this?
Manu Chao has, without a doubt, crafted two of my favorite albums ever: Clandestino (1998) and Próxima Estación: Esperanza (2001). Unfortunately, with the exception of his amazingly-produced album for Amadou & Mariam, all subsequent releases have fallen flat.
La Radiolina, his most-recent release (2007), gained a good bit of international attention, and I recall Time Magazine rating "Me Lamman Calle" as one of the best songs of the year. Alas, that was the only real highlight from the album, with all other songs lacking the luster and appeal of prior releases.
That said, I still enjoy this song on it's own, and it happens to be suited perfectly for the great Sunday we're having in Barcelona today.
